Question

How do I get there?

Answer

The nearest international airport is Lisbon (LIS), which is a ~30-40min taxi/Uber away from Sintra.

Question

Do I need a visa?

Answer

Those with US, Singaporean, UK or European Union passports will not need a tourist visa if their stay is less than 90 days. (The full list of nationalities not requiring a visa can be found here: https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/who-doesnt-need-a-visa/) Those with Indian passports will need to obtain a tourist visa, which can take up to 60 days, so please plan accordingly. You can apply here: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/prt/) If you need any information to apply for a visa (e.g., accommodation details), please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Question

What should we do about accommodation?

Answer

We have room blocks at Hotel NH Sintra and Vila Gale Sintra. If you haven't yet heard from us on how to book these, please reach out. There will be transportation to and from the Welcome Dinner and Wedding from both hotels, but Ubers are easily available and relatively inexpensive should you want the flexibility.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but to allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our wedding weekend adults only. We understand that some of you may need to travel with kids so if you'd like help arranging babysitting, let us know. Please note that both hotels offer babysitting services. Alternatively, please reach out to https://babysisters.pt/en/babysitting-portugal/, a vouched for babysitting service.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

In early May, weather should be warm in the day (high of ~70⁰F / ~21⁰C), and chilly in the evening (low of ~55⁰F / ~12⁰C). If you can keep your fingers crossed for no rain from now until the day of the wedding, we would appreciate it!

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, we're hoping it will be outdoors. It'll be sunny in the day, and likely cooler in the evening, so you may want a layer later on!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For the Friday Welcome Dinner, we would describe it as “Garden Cocktail”. (Think shorter or mid-length dresses, light sarees, anarkalis, slacks and a sport coat, a suit, fun kurtas / vests etc. Floral prints are encouraged!) PLEASE NOTE: The path to and from the garden involves some uneven steps, so comfortable footwear is recommended. For the Wedding and Reception, we would describe the dress code as either "Villa Formal" or "Palace Casual" inspired. (Think suits, long dresses, lehengas, pattu saris, pattu veshtis, formal kurtas etc.) Overall though, please wear whatever you feel comfortable in or are excited to wear! Any variety of Indian, Western, or any other culture's "dress to impress" is most welcome. If you'd like to wear Indian clothes but aren't sure where to shop, check out Ogaan, Pernia's Pop Up, Aza Fashion, Kynah, and Anita Dongre for reliable online shopping.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Question

Answer
