Niagara Falls is about an 1.5 hour drive away from Rochester. You will be able to get close to all three components of Niagara Falls – Horseshoe Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and American Falls. If you want to get close to the Horseshoe Falls check out the Maid of the Mist!
Rochester is home to Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes. At Ontario Beach Park, you can stroll on the boardwalk, get some fresh air and grab Abbotts (the best ice cream in town).
Known as the "Grand Canyon of the East", Letchworth State Park is about a 40min drive from Rochester. Here you can choose to hike on one of the 28 trails or enjoy a picnic near the Upper and Mid Falls.

You can visit his home which is now the world's oldest museum dedicated to photography and one of the world's oldest film archives.
