How it all started

Anuolu's Side

So! I was getting ready for church on a Sunday and I got a random WhatsApp message from a "stranger" saying he (Emmanuel) got my phone number from a pastor in Nigeria. I was confused but after further enquiries, I realized my best friend, Adeola's husband gave it to him (thank you Ogochukwu...lol). I decided to be polite and just hear him out, only to discover that we had chemistry. We soon began to chat/talk everyday and that strengthened our friendship. We knew we liked each other and had similar ideas about life, but distance was a challenge as he lives in Kansas and I in NJ. However, Emmanuel didn't waste time in flying down to NJ and we met for the first time in June 2017. Thereafter we started dating officially. We visited back and forth and on one of my trips to Kansas, Emmanuel proposed and I said YESSSS!!!!

How it all started

Emmanuel's side

I traveled to Lagos, Nigeria for my brother's wedding in February 2017. During my stay, I visited my parents' church and met a pastor who told me his wife's friend also lives in America--and that he would like to introduce me to her. He gave me her phone number ( thanks man!) and I didn't hesitate in sending her a message on WhatsAPP. Anu was a bit surprised as she wasn't expecting my message and didn't know who I was. After few queries (lol), she told me she had to go to church and will continue the conversation after she talks to the pastor (Ogochukwu) that gave me her contact details. I flew back to America that night and after I got to Kansas, I reached out to her again--this time she wasn't surprised and the conversation flowed--naturally. We continued chatting and talking almost everyday. The chemistry was solid and the feelings were mutual. Eventually, I flew down to NJ and we met in person in June 2017. Our first meeting solidified what we already felt for each other and after praying, we decided to make our relationship official. Few months later, I knew she was the one for me! Having met her family, I decided to propose on one of her trips to Kansas, and she said Yes !!! The rest, they say, is history! :)
