FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by 23rd November 2025.

Question

How do I get to Agua Amarga?

Answer

✈️ Travel Flying from the UK Most guests (including us!) will be flying into Murcia, which is about a 1 hr 40 min drive to Agua Amarga. There are regular flights from Glasgow Prestwick to Murcia, and we’ve had good experiences renting cars with Zest Car Rental. The drive is really straightforward, and if it helps, we’re happy to connect people for car shares or give advice on the best travel options. Another option is to fly into Alicante (with direct flights from Glasgow Airport), then drive around 2 hrs 30 mins to Agua Amarga. The closest airport is Almería, just a short transfer from the village, but flights only operate from Manchester and London. We know there’s a bit of travel and driving involved, but we promise the destination will make it worth it! We really appreciate it. Thank you so much. Xx

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Your invite will let you know if you can bring a plus-one. If not, please know we’ve kept the guest list small to ensure it’s a close-knit group of people you know and care about, whether it’s friends or family. We hope you understand – we just wanted to keep it cosy and intimate!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We absolutely love your wee ones and would be delighted to have them join us! Agua Amarga is a child-friendly, safe village, and the whole weekend will be family-friendly, with some apprentice babysitters around to help out. However, we totally understand if you’d prefer a child-free holiday. Just let us know, so we can account for numbers accordingly!

Question

Where should I book accommodation, and is there enough available?

Answer

🏡 Accommodation When booking, we really recommend double-checking that your hotel or apartment is within Agua Amarga village. Some listings say they’re in Agua Amarga but are actually in the next town, Carboneras. While Carboneras is lovely, we’d suggest staying in the village itself as transport routes and taxis are very limited. Also, in the usual relaxed Spanish way, many hotels and apartments don’t open bookings until the season begins- including one of the main hotels, Senderos. Please don’t worry if it looks like everywhere is already booked up or sold out. There are plenty of options, they just may not have opened yet! Once you’re in Agua Amarga, wherever you stay you’ll be just a short walk from the beach and all of the wedding events. The village is small, so everything is within easy reach.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have recommended some hotels in the 'Travel' tab of this website. Our wedding location is at El Beach, which is connected to the Hotel Las Calas. Please let us know if you are booking there as if all rooms are filled we may be able to get discounted prices for you! If you need any more suggestions then feel free to send us a wee message and we will try to help!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

No, as long as you are staying in the Agua Amarga village, the beach will be walking distance from your accommodation!

Question

Should I hire a car?

Answer

🚗 Getting Around Hiring a car is the easiest way to reach Agua Amarga (from Murica and Alicante) and gives you the most flexibility during your stay. The roads are simple and the drive is beautiful! If you’d like to share a car with other guests, let us know - we’ll happily help pair people up. If you're flying into Almeria, there are taxis outside that can bring you to Agua Amarga. Its about a 45 min drive. We have also included taxi companies on the Travel Tab of this website. Once you are in the village, you won't need a car as everything is walking distance :)!
