How we Met

It All Started with a Knock at the Door!

It all started with a knock at the door and for what felt like an eternity Tony was silent. Of course, I thought the worst about this and it turned out he was just really nervous. This was our very first date and we were headed to Cancun. I know you’re thinking “Wow, you went all out.” And that may be true as I was a hardworking college student trying to make ends meet. Although, I must inform you that this is a mexican restaurant in Warrensburg, Missouri. I later found out that mexican food was not Tony’s favorite once he learned to use words again. The date was going so well we decided to go on a Walmart adventure! At Walmart we were really getting to know eachother, we stopped at the display of outdoor furniture to chat for a while. It was inevitable that we ended up in the toy area. Of course, we started a sword fight in the middle of Walmart, Tony yelled at anyone walking by to join in. With this being a SWORD FIGHT I am sure some would question if this meant he liked me or not. Regardless, I knew I wanted to battle him again. Our second date was only 6 days later (even though it felt like an eternity.) This time it was St. Patrick’s Day and what better way to celebrate the holiday then… Starbuck’s! Just kidding, but really it was Tony’s first time and this was the day he became basic. Caramel Macchiato’s any and every time we go to Starbuck’s now. To end the great date we had our very first kiss (I know, I know, TMI) but we thought it was cute because we are both partially Irish. After a few dates we became boyfriend and girlfriend on 03/31/18, but Tony will disagree that it was 04/01/18. That year it was Easter, although, usually known as April Fool’s Day, which is quite fitting for his personality, right?! This time I knew I wanted to battle him forever.

The Proposal

The Yes Day!

Fast forward to about a year later... it was time for spring break. We decided to take a vacation to Branson! I had a feeling something big was going to happen here, so that called for getting my nails done! Duh! Our first day we went on The Branson Belle Showboat, and I had a feeling that this was the day. It was not, but it is easily one of the best memories we have. And little did I know it would not be long before I would become an engaged woman! Over the next few days we went to the many events that I put on our itinerary like The Acrobats of Shanghai, The Dixie Stampede and The Inspiration Tower. Even though I planned the itinerary, there was one happening that I did not plan. It was St. Patrick’s Day again, but this time it was year 2019 versus 2018 and I definitely did not wear green. The place we went was called Dogwood canyon and it had the most beautiful scenery there is in all of Missouri! We were walking for about an hour or so, touring the whole place and once we see all I think there is to see we stop at a beautiful church. Walking inside I can see through the large glass windows a large crystal clear waterfall, and I HAD to see it closer. After we make our way outside the church, I am looking around in awe. I see dogwood flowers everywhere and I point them out to Tony because they were my grammy’s favorite and I knew she was there with us that day. Next thing I know, Tony is on one knee with a box in his hand. It was almost like a replay of our first date because he forgot his words, and after putting the ring on my finger he dropped the box! But, it definitely helped his case that there happened to be a really loud waterfall behind him. Then it was my turn, so once I remembered how to speak, I said “YES!” with a big gasp. All jokes aside, this was the easiest yes I know to date. That is our short love story in a nutshell. Now let’s see how well we can say “I DO.” Join us on September 19th, 2020 to find out! #HypedToBeASipes
