Antonio was visiting Gina one weekend while she was travel nursing in New Orleans, LA. Antonio told Gina he had made dinner reservations Friday night at Clancy’s- a very popular New Orleans staple that takes weeks to get into. On the way to the restaurant, Antonio insisted the Uber drop them off at Audubon Park before dinner because he “really wanted to see the WWI monument.” After a mile long walk through the park in a dress and platform heels (dodging joggers and cyclists along the way) they finally arrive at said monument, which didn’t happen to be for WWI at all but instead was the Newman Bandstand. Gina thought it was odd there were quotes about jazz music on a war monument, but was too hangry to care and tried rushing Antonio to get a picture of the monument so they could leave and head to dinner. Antonio then grabs Gina’s hand and says, “Good news and bad news. Bad news is we don’t have reservations at Clancy’s...” You can imagine the look on Gina’s face when she was told she wasn’t getting the food she was promised. Antonio continues, “Good news is…” and then got down on one knee and proposed! A secret photographer captured it all, and the surprises didn’t end there. Antonio & Gina’s friends and family were secretly waiting for them at a brewery close by. Walking in and seeing the people they love who came from all over to celebrate such a huge moment in Antonio & Gina’s lives was the best feeling in the world. The rest of the weekend was spent doing what they do best: live music, crawfish boils and drinking around New Orleans! P.S. Antonio & Gina finally did eat at Clancy’s months later and it definitely lives up to the hype- 10/10 recommend.
