First place in Croatia that Gema fell in love with. Just a short 20 min drive outside of Sibenik and you can visit the Krka National Park - a beautiful river canyon with waterfalls, easy walking trails through it all. At the beginning of the walking trail there are small restaurants and coffee places, and then also halfway through the trail as well, the trail is circular and will bring you back to your starting point. There is an option to take a small boat from there to a nearby town of Skradin, a quiet little place to rest with a coffee or food break - my favourite place to eat: Restoran Skala by Vinarija Sladić - https://restoran-skala.hr/ You can also visit Skradin by driving 15 min from the Krka park.

Trogir is a tiny island town connected by bridges to the mainland and Čiovo island. It´s right next to the Split airport so its easy to check it out while leaving or coming back to the airport. Its beautifully preserved stone streets, Venetian architecture, and lively waterfront make it feel like a mini‑Dubrovnik — but quieter and more intimate. Top Things to Do - St. Lawrence Cathedral & Bell Tower The town’s most famous landmark, known for its Romanesque portal and panoramic views from the tower. - Trogir Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site) A maze of narrow alleys, courtyards, and historic buildings that earned Trogir its UNESCO status. - Kamerlengo Fortress A 15th‑century Venetian fortress with great views over the marina and old town. - Riva Promenade A lively waterfront lined with cafés.
Omiš sits at the mouth of the Cetina River, surrounded by steep cliffs and clear water. Historically a pirate stronghold, today it’s known for outdoor adventures, sandy beaches, and spectacular viewpoints. It’s only about an hour from Split, making it an easy day trip or a great base for exploring the region. Top Things to Do - Cetina River Canyon One of the most beautiful river landscapes in Croatia, especially near the river mouth, where it cuts between two mountains. - Mirabela Fortress (Peovica) A short but steep climb from the old town, amazing views over Omiš and the canyon. - Fortica Fortress A longer hike leading to panoramic views of the entire coastline. - Zip‑lining Over the Cetina Canyon, or try rock climbing. - White‑Water Rafting The Cetina River is one of Croatia’s top rafting spots. - Old Town Walk Narrow alleys, stone houses, and traces of its pirate past. Short drive away: Radmanove Mlinice - A riverside restaurant and nature area deep in the Cetina canyon.

Also a short 30 min drive away: Trsteno Arboretum - 15th-century former aristocratic summer residence park, game of thrones lovers might recognise some spots :)
I would recommend you to pick one city as your base during your visit to Croatia and then drive around. Sibenik is perfect as it´s right in the middle between Split and Zadar so you can explore the area. If you choose to stay in Sibenik area, I would recommend staying relatively close to the sea side, after all it is summer and I'm assuming you also want to go to some beaches to swim. For couples, Sibenik city itself might work, even the old town of Sibenik, but for bigger groups a house outside of town would work best and if you have a car rented you don´t have to worry about distance, just try not to go too much inland, I wouldn´t want to drive more than 15 min to the sea. There are plenty of small places close to Sibenik right next to the sea: Brodarica, Zaboric, Vodice, Srima, Tribunj. A little bit more inland but still close: Dubrava kod Sibenika Or drive around and sleep each night in a different place, I´m not your mom to tell you what to do :)
