FAQs

Question

I am planning on wearing heels and then taking them off to dance. Is that okay?

Answer

The venue has a policy against bare feet (no dogs out). If you are wearing heels that would make it uncomfortable to dance in bring another pair of shoes/footwear that you can have to change into. We want you to dance and have fun, but rules are rules!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! Saint Clements Castle has a large parking lot. If you would like to carpool, feel free, but there should be plenty of room. When you arrive tell them that you are here for the Rua Pale Wedding in the Waterford Ballroom. You should be directed by staff. In addition, for those using the Inn at Middletown, we have arranged transport from the hotel to the venue and then back after the reception ends.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We have arranged transport from our arranged hotel to the venue, a 50 person bus leaving the hotel at 3:45pm, and then back after the reception ends. If you drove to the venue but want to take the transport back you are allowed to leave your car overnight at the venue and find someone to bring you back in the morning.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive by 4:00pm. The ceremony starts at 4:30pm and no one will be let in late.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have had a block of rooms set aside at the Inn at Middletown that is just a short drive away over the Connecticut River. If you are planning on booking rooms here, please do so by March 30th, 2026. Please see the Travel tab for more information. As our hotel block is full please see the Travel tab for other nearby hotel suggestions.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Please see the registry tab on the website.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Invitations are specifically addressed to those who are invited and you will see those specific names again when RSVPing. If your invitation stated "And guest", you may bring a plus one. Otherwise, please bring only those on the invitation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we (mostly Amanda) would love to see your children, unless they are specifically invited, arrange child care for the night and do not bring them. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please refrain from wearing white and navy blue (women) or tan (men). Please wear formal/cocktail attire. This is not a black tie event.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As indicated on your invite, all guests should RSVP by April 30th. If an RSVP is not received by this date, an answer of "no" will be entered.

Question

How should I write my name to RSVP?

Answer

Please write your name exactly as it was written on your invitation.

Question

I forgot to RSVP by the listed date? Can I still come?

Answer

No

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Note your allergy in the designated location in the RSVP form and the venue will be notified. They will make the appropriate modifications or, if needed, offer alternatives.
