Dre and I first met working together at Zaxby's in 2012, which then led to us keeping in contact after I stopped working at Zaxby's. In the summer of 2013, Dre and his friends had a party and he invited. At the party, Dre mentioned we should hang out before I left to go to school at BAMA. I responded sure and didn't think much of it. As the summer progressed and it became closer to me leaving for school, I text Dre to see if he was full of it regarding his offer. He said we could go out the weekend before I left for school. So we went out bowling and out to eat at Carolina Ale House. We had a good time and decided to keep in touch as I got settled in school. From that point on I thought we would just be friends. Needless to say 5 year later, we are engaged to be married.

​We got engaged on November 9, 2019. It was a week after my birthday, which I spent in New Orleans. So when I got back Dre said he was going to take me out for my birthday, just us two. Throughout the week, I noticed he was adamant about us dressing up for the occasion and I just said okay. He even made reservations at The Melting Pot, which was an alarm because he never makes reservations, I do. He also got a haircut and bought some new dress shirts, and I thought wow he is taking this seriously. My mind momentarily went to what if he proposes...but I would talk myself out of it. *Earlier that day we ate Chinese and my fortune cookie said "you will soon receive an unusual gift." So the night comes we get ready to go to the Melting Pot and he kept straightening up and cleaning. And I asked him why are you cleaning it's Saturday. He just responded I want to come back to a clean house. I left it. So we get to Melting Pot, my mood was not the best because Bama lost LSU that night. Dinner was nice, but I remember throughout dinner I kept reminding him to get off his phone for date night and he just said he was checking scores. I now know he was talking to our friends about the proposal that would happen later. So I text my best friend, "false alarm" not happening tonight. Meanwhile, she is actually at our house decorating and awaiting our arrival back. So on the car ride home, Dre was acting sort of normal outside of serenading me in the car to be silly. So I didn't think anything is going to happen because it didn't at the restaurant. So I open the door and I immediately see candles lighting a path to the living room and rose pedals reading marry me?By this point, all I can say is ohmygod. So our two best friends are recording and Dre tells them to turn on the lights. I hear someone say turn around and I see my parents and his mom. So I'm freaking out its happening. So Dre then goes into this beautiful speech and gets on one knee and asks will you marry me? & I say yes
