Our story began a little over a year ago, though in many ways, our paths had crossed long before then. We both attended the University of Maryland, College Park, and shared a close mutual friend, yet somehow never truly knew each other. Life had its timing—and it turns out, it was saving the best for later. Everything changed with what we still lovingly call an “accidental DM.” Antonia was at Disney on Ice with her fierce and beautiful daughter, Robin, while Jabari was at homecoming at Maryland, soaking in the energy, nostalgia, and good company. That small, unexpected moment turned into conversations that flowed effortlessly and quickly felt like home. What started as a simple message became the beginning of the rest of our lives together. From very early on, we both knew this was different. We recognized in each other the partner God intended us to walk through life with. With that certainty came intention—choosing to grow individually and together, deepening our commitment not only to one another, but to God, so that we could love better, lead better, and build a life rooted in faith. One of the most beautiful parts of our journey has been watching the bond grow between Jabari and Robin. From the very beginning, Jabari loved and adored Antonia’s little fighter wholeheartedly. Robin, in turn, gave Jabari a special name—“PJ”—and with it, a place in her heart. Together, they’ve built a relationship filled with laughter, trust, and so much love, making our family feel complete in the most natural and joyful way. What began quietly has become something deeply sacred. We are endlessly grateful for this love, this family, and the path God has set before us—and we can’t wait to continue walking it together.
