How We Met:

Both attending Penn Manor High School, I (Amber) was a freshman when Alex was a junior. Due to Alex getting into some trouble and losing his car privileges, he was forced to ride the bus. I decided to sit near Alex one of the days, and he offered me his iPod to listen to on the way home. These small interactions struck up crushes on one another, unknowingly to either of us. Alex went on to graduate in 2010, with myself following in 2012. Life went on and we kept in touch sporadically, ultimately rekindling in 2016. Alex asked to take me out for a birthday drink, and I picked him up wearing a Grateful Dead t-shirt and jeans. This lead to our shared love of music taste, the Dead, and of course, Pretty Lights. The moment I knew Alex was the one was the day he asked me, "Have you ever heard of Pretty Lights?" Since then, we've travelled all over the U.S. together catching shows and music festivals, which is our favorite shared passion. In November of 2024, we planned a trip to St. Augustine, FL for a 3 night Pretty Lights show. Going through an extremely stressful few months with work, the night we got to the Airbnb, I was so exhausted and Alex suggested we go to the beach to catch the sunset, (I should have picked up on that, because if you know Alex, that wouldn't be a suggestion) and my reply was simply "no." The next day, we grabbed coffee, headed to the beach and he popped the question. I cried, took off my glasses which started the blow away in the wind, finally found them and then simply stood there. Meanwhile, Alex was kneeling on a nail sticking up from the boardwalk the entire time. (Yes, he was fine and up to date on his shots) He followed up with "Aren't you going to say anything?" with my reply being "What do you mean?" Obviously, my answer was yes or you all wouldn't be here. But if you know us, this is a spot-on interaction. Now we're here, almost 10 years later, celebrating with our beloved family and closest friends, some who we can thank to the music we've seen along the way.
