After starting her new job, Antoinette coerced her colleagues to grab some drinks at “her bar”-Finns. They walked in and she noticed the new (and very handsome) bar back. Not thinking anything of it, she ordered her drinks and took a spot a picnic table outside. As the weeks went on, and the drinking after work at Finns continued, Sam started bartending and decided that he would try his hand at “cutting off” an increasingly loud Antoinette. After Sam told her no, she waited until the other bartender came over and got the drink from her - after all, this was “Antoinette’s bar”. Annoyed that she went behind his back to get a drink, Sam wrote Antoinette off as a woohoo-girl. Their interactions were short and sweet at the bar and as the months went on Antoinette shared her secret school-girl crush she had on Sam with her friends. It wasn’t until one summer night in the beginning of August that everything changed. Sam was walking past Bru (another after-work drinking spot for Antoinette) with his colleagues and spotted Antoinette grabbing a drink with her colleagues. Sam stopped and engaged in some small talk, but then continued on his way to Finns for a drink. A few minutes passed and Sam decided that it was the perfect time to get a chance to hang out with Antoinette, because- as it turns out, he too had a secret crush. He returned back to Bru and didn’t see Antoinette. He asked Marie, Antoinette’s colleague and friend, where she went. Marie explained to Sam that she went to Wawa with a homeless man to buy him some milk. She encouraged Sam to go to Wawa to check and make sure Antoinette was okay. Right when Sam walked in, he saw the homeless man start to raise his voice at Antoinette because she wouldn't give him any physical money. Sam went right over, confronted the man and told him not to speak to his “girlfriend” that way. After thanking Sam for coming to her rescue, Antoinette happily hung out with Sam for the rest of the night - and the rest was history.
