We met while participating in a service project, Breakfast with Santa. This annual event is hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Zeta Zeta Omega chapter in Evansville, IN. Calvin, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Kappa Rho Lambda chapter, was dutifully volunteering. As a member of the sorority, Antoinette asked Calvin to move tables and set up chairs thinking he was a member of the church where event took place. Calvin's willingness to serve did not go unnoticed. Antoinette also noticed that she and Calvin shared several mutual friends on social media. In fact, our paths crossed at several community functions prior to our meeting. Shai Terry was the key to connecting the couple, Calvin has been a close family friend for years. We connected by telephone early April 2023 and had our first date April 12, 2023. Our second date ended way too early, so we took over a love seat in the middle of the mall and talked for hours. By the end of the month, Calvin and Antoinette travelled to St. Louis, MO to see Janet Jackson in concert. Although reluctant, Calvin actually missed a day of work to attend. We have been inseparable since.
