Matron of Honor
Dominique is my older sister and quite possibly the smartest person I know. She is someone I have looked up to for my whole life and I’m so excited to have her as a Matron of Honor! Dominique is the family planner, official reader of board game instructions and the trifecta of motherhood! (human, dog, and plants). She is also one to look out for on the dance floor! So if you haven’t met, be sure to find her there! She’s someone I can count on to pick up the phone when I need her to, she gives great loving advice, and is the reality tv buddy I need when there is so much drama to discuss! There are so many wonderful things I could say about my sister but I’ll leave you all with this: when it comes to having a big sister, I really got the best one
Best Man
My brother by blood and brother in arms! I thought if I outranked him when we were in the Marine Corps, I could finally tell him what to do. It did not work out like I planned. John is always looking out for those he cares about, especially his younger brothers, even though he tries to hide it. Behind his tough exterior, John has a heart of gold when it comes to his family and friends. Having him as both a brother by blood and a brother in arms means I have the perfect Best Man to watch my back.
Matron of Honor
Colette is my younger sister, who I am equally as excited to have as a Matron of Honor! Colette has the biggest heart. Her level of empathy and compassion for the people she meets is so admirable. No one is a stranger. You can’t walk more than two steps with Colette before she runs into somebody she knows! But don’t be fooled, with that compassion comes some quick wit! Colette is also hilarious and delivers some of the funniest one liners I’ve ever heard. She is a loving mother, gives the best hugs, and has a strength and resilience that moves me every time I think of all she’s been through. If you haven’t met Colette yet, she’s probably on her way to introduce herself to you right now!
Best Man
The smart brother! Everyone thinks he’s the oldest because he’s the tallest and has the most facial hair. Ben has always been the organized and put-together one of the three of us, even though he’s the youngest. Growing up, John and I were the wild ones, and it’s a miracle Ben made it out of childhood in one piece. He’s always been the glue that makes the Roberts brothers look good, and that is exactly why he is standing next to me as my other best man on my big day.
Bridesman
Michael has been like family to me for almost 15 years! We met doing voluntary slave labor back in 2012. He is one of the most talented people I have ever met! Seriously…he’s really good at so many things. For a good while I would refer to him as my “riff writer.” Michael would magically create riffs for me and suddenly the song would sound better. We both moved to NYC the same year and he really has stuck with me though some TIMES. It’s like he’s been there to watch me grow up! He’s been a huge support system both personally and professionally and there are just so many core memories that I share with him. And even when he abandons me to go work out of the state, we always pick up where we left off. Of all Michael’s talents, one of the most important is that he can cook and will (most of the time) save me a plate!
Groomsman
My unofficial older brother! Adrien is one of the many groomsmen that I met in the military. More importantly, he's the man who brought me back to church and helped guide my faith. He has always been the carefree one who laughs loudly. Since our military days, he has grown into an incredible leader for his wife, his daughter (my second niece), and his family and friends—though he still manages to keep that same loud laugh. "I do" appreciate his wife for letting me officiate their marriage and for setting a great example of a God-centered marriage.
Bridesmaid
Charlotte is the friend who found and adopted me. We met doing a reading of a show in 2018, where I must have looked really trustworthy cause she decided to confide in me almost immediately. She is the reason that I have spent ANY time in the outside world and must be given credit for helping me meet Ethan cause if not for her suggesting we do a girl’s trip to Vegas…we all wouldn’t be celebrating this occasion. Charlotte is also one of the most generous people I have ever met. Haven’t seen each other in a while? GIFT. Your birthday? GIFT. She just thought of you that day? GIFT. She can often be found walking 35k steps a day or buying random things on Facebook marketplace. I’m so grateful that she has stuck with me through these years and am so blessed to have her as a friend/sister.
Groomsman
My undocumented lil bro! They got his last name wrong on his paperwork, but we are actually related even though he's Puerto Rican. There isn't a more honest man than "Santa" who I would want standing with me on my big day. He always shows up for me, and I know that if I ever need help, I can give him a call and he’ll answer. Even though he jokes around a lot, he loves his family deeply, and I am incredibly proud of him for setting the example as a father and an uncle (and for giving me my first niece!). Glad I will have my Mexican brother with me!
Bridesman
I remember the night I met Brian, he became an instant friend. That does not happen often. Brian is someone I also met while living in Lancaster. The vibes are gonna be great whenever he is around, but I also really value the one on one conversations I’ve had with him. One time in particular I was really struggling with some things, and Brian invited me to visit him. He knew exactly how to bring me out of that funk and cheer me up. He inspires me to advocate for myself and to be more creative. And I can’t leave out that he is also an AMAZING cook. I’m so grateful for friends who make sure I eat good. Brian is someone I can trust and I’m so grateful he struck up a conversation with me all those years ago. Now he’s family.
Groomsman
My brother from another mother! Shomari has always said you can only be two things in life: classy or trashy. I've learned that this can change depending on the situation. Because even though he’s a classy man who is selfless, honest, and humble... he’s absolute trash at Mario Party. This man has always been mentally five years ahead of his age, using his wisdom and life experiences to become the man he is today. I'm so glad you moved to the DMV with me after New Orleans—let's keep growing together as men.
Bridesmaid
Josey and I met back in 2012 while doing a concert-like show in Lancaster, PA. With us being only hours apart in age, that automatically makes us twins. She’s someone that I’ve been able to grow into adulthood with. That includes a yearly check-in of how on earth we are already (insert age)! Josey’s friendship feels like home. It includes venting sessions, full crashouts, doubling over laughing, reading for each other's auditions, a support system and a GOOD happy hour catch up if we haven’t seen each other in a while. I’m so excited to have her standing with me on my wedding day. And in true twin fashion, we both are getting married this year :)
Groomsman
The Daddy of the crew! Out of all the Marines up here, Dre was the first one I met when I got to my unit, and he showed me what it really means to be a Marine. That’s probably why I’m not afraid to get in trouble, why I'm so good at finding places to nap at work, but most of all, why I always try to be there for others. This man will gladly sacrifice his time to help anyone. He's incredibly kind, patient, and likes to throw down in the kitchen—though my mac and cheese is definitely better.
Bridesman
Torrey is my other twin! There have been multiple occasions where we have questioned if we really were separated at birth. We met in 2019 on a national tour, and let me tell you if not for Torrey I probably would have quit that job! He’s got this calm wisdom and will tell you what you need to hear in a loving way. Torrey loves his people hard. He will check on you, pray with you, is a great listener, and will do what needs to be done to take care of his family. I really look up to him and am so so grateful to have him standing with me. I hope you get to meet him, and if not, it's because his social battery ran out…and I respect that.
Groomsman
Big dog! This is the guy you would sit in the back of class with and laugh the whole time. He's the quietest in the room, but the funniest. Along with Jaquan, he’s one of the few sane men up here who didn't let the Marine Corps brainwash him. He also got married on November 1st last year, so please thank his wife for letting him come to a wedding on their first anniversary. Luckily, Minjote and Antoinette are cool; otherwise, Carlyle would be sleeping on the couch... in a coffin. Grateful to have another married man by my side.
Flower Girls
Cadence and Naomi are my two nieces and Goddaughters! I love them so much and am excited that they have agreed to be my flower girls! Cadence is 8 years old and I can barely keep up with her. She does gymnastics and karate and loves her some Pokemon, especially Eevee. She’s a fantastic big sister to her brother Emmauel. Cadence’s love for thrill will keep her life exciting. She may be small, but she loves big roller coasters and dosen’t mind petting a snake or two! Naomi is 4 years old and she is hilarious. Ever since she was born she has been serving some top tier facial expressions and is not afraid to tell you if she does or does not like something. She loves arts and crafts, especially diamond art, and takes her designated screen time very seriously. Though she may be shy initially, Naomi is super friendly and loves playtime with new friends!
Groomsman
Jaquan Myron Mother-loving Butler! Jaquan didn't join the Marines, but he decided to take up MMA instead. So if anyone gets out of line at the open bar, Jaquan is officially on security detail. I've seen him fight, and trust me, you don't want that problem. This man has always been straightforward and holds me accountable without ever holding a grudge or making a judgment. Even though he has a low social battery, which Antoinette can respect, I'm grateful he agreed to stand in front of a bunch of people he doesn't know with me. Everyone make sure to say hi to Jaquan at the wedding!
Ring Bearers
6 7! Auden (6) and Kahlani (7) are our fabulous ring bearers! I still remember them as tiny babies, but now they are growing into such smart young girls. Kahlani is a video game pro, while Auden is a master at making art. Kahlani calls me Tio Ethan, Auden calls me Uncle E.E., and soon they will both be referring to Antoinette as Aunty-nette. They are guided by amazing fathers who love them dearly (and a pretty great uncle, too)!
