We 1st met back in 2006 while hanging out with our Masonic Family at The Bulldog to watch the game. I'm hanging with the bros and this fine, chocolate, sexy brown (Crayola Brown) thing walked in. I tapped my boy Shannon and asked "Who is that?'. We locked eyes and I told her to come sit by me. She sat in my lap and spent most of the night playing in the dreads and I knew she was feeling your boy! We talked, laughed, and had a good vibe all night. When she left, I told her "Bye my future wife". She smiled and walked off. (Have y'all seen that walk? Yes Lawd!) I hit her up the next day, and over the next few weeks we became good friends. This girl had me shopping for her, cooking for her, had me falling for her hard. I told my boy...she's the one! Right when I decided to shoot my shot and tell her how I felt, she shot me down saying "We're chilling. I'm not trying to be in a relationship". Yep....she hurt your boy. But I kept trying and eventually.... she ghosted me. (Right...she ghosted VEASEY)! So, I took that L and we went on with our lives. Built careers, families, etc. She was a thing of the past. We didn't talk or see one another for over a decade. I was happy. She was happy. Life was good. Unfortunately, life hit me in a way I had never imagined which put me in a dark place. Then one day in 2019, out of no where....who do I see? Yep...Tammy "Brown". We stood and talked for almost an hour. I asked her on a lunch date...and she turned me down. I asked her to go with me to my homeboy party...and yep...she turned me down. I finally asked her what was up and she told me "I want you to heal...I also need to heal...let's take our time and do it together". And that's what we did. Prior to this I was "Surviving"....I was "Managing".... I was staying occupied to "Get By". I didn't know how much I needed to hear the words "you need to heal"...and that's what I did. However, ...no matter what or how long it would take...I KNEW she was back for a reason, and I wasn't letting her go this time...and she felt the same. God brought her back to me at a time that I could appreciate her. A time that he destined just for me. And now 7 years later (7=the year of completion and perfection), it's time to make this precious gift from God my wife. Over the last few years, we both have gone on a journey mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I knew it was time to give her everything her heart desired. So, I put my plan into play and on July 4th, I brought her back to the place where it all started (The Bulldog) and asked her to make me the luckiest man alive by becoming my wife. And what's even more crazy, they tore the Bulldog down a few months later. You talk about God's PERFECT timing. And now here we are just weeks away from joining our lives together. I thank God for the favor he has shown me by bringing you back to me and I can't wait to make you Mrs. Veasey!
