We're thrilled to celebrate our wedding in South Africa, the birthplace of the Big 5, the Springboks, and our very own Marrigje Nell. With friends and family travelling from Canada, England and beyond, we’re excited to be able to celebrate in appropriate international fashion. Location: Verde en Lust Wine Estate located within Franschhoek Valley, a famous wine region in the Western Cape lined with vineyards and surrounded by mountains. It is located one hour from Cape Town airport and 45 minutes from Cape Town by car. Please find our venue's website for further details: https://www.vnl.co.za Travel: Fly to: Cape Town Airport. Taxis from Cape Town cost around £20 - £30. Rental cars are good value and would provide flexibility should you wish to explore the area. Accommodation: There are lots of great places to stay near the venue from hotels to guest houses to Airbnb's. For the wedding weekend, we recommend staying in Franschhoek or Paarl for those not staying on site. Please speak to us if you are unsure this includes you. Go to the Travel Tips page to see more about types of accommodation and other tips. For those staying onsite check in is on Friday 3pm and check out is Sunday 11am. Dress Code: Afro-Riviera Think summer prints, floaty dresses, linen suits, and colourful outfits. We’re going for Africa meets French Riviera: vibrant, colourful, and a little bit fabulous. A note on heels: Stilettos + lawn = a risky game. Lose one at your own peril. Block heels, wedges or flats are a safer choice. Cape Town evenings can bring a cool breeze, so pack a jacket, wrap, or something warm to keep you comfortable once the sun goes down. Gifts: We're so excited (and mildly in disbelief) that you're traveling far and wide to celebrate with us. Honestly, your passport stamps and jet lag are more than enough gift!
