Every ending to a great story reads, “And they lived happily ever after.” Ladies and gentlemen, this is that great story. We were lucky enough to find the type of love you commonly only read about in fairy tales. Once upon a time we were high school sweethearts, going to each other’s school dances and sporting events. Sharing promises to one another and planning our forever. Sadly after 3 years together we went our separate ways, always staying in touch, but in our own worlds. Some might think this is where the story ends but instead it has yet to begin. In that time apart we learned so much about ourselves and what we wanted in life. Until one day the world brought us back together. Fast forward to January 2021. As most of you remember, this month took a toll on all of us. It was difficult to keep our true feelings for each other set aside any longer. After a period of trepidation, Marissa was one of the first phone calls I made shortly after waking up in the intensive care unit at Mass Memorial. From that day forward a majority of our waking hours were spent in constant communication. If she wasn’t at work, she was on the phone with me- all morning and all night. Until March when she was on a flight to Boston. Most of us know what happens next, I moved to Florida and we lived the beautiful life we created with our dog Violet. On October 9, 2021 in front of Cinderella’s Castle, with Mickey Mouse as our witness, I asked her to a lifetime together in love and harmony. An unforgettable moment in our lives as magical as the kingdom in which the event took place. For now, we’re back in Rhode Island so excited to say forever to one another in front of friends and family alike. We hope to see everyone Friday October 28th to witness our Happily Ever After.
