Shuttle From Airport to Tulum: MeetPlaya Transfers

It is a 1 hour and 20 minute drive from Cancun airport to Tulum. We have used MeetPlaya many times when visiting Tulum. Their typical rate is $175 USD round trip for a van that can fit 8-10 people.

Nomade

Price: $$-$$$ One of Maria's favorite hotels. Highly recommend. The design is very bohemian, artsy and truly tucked into nature. They have daily yoga, lots of creative events always happening around the grounds, and an included breakfast buffet that is UNREAL - huge perk. Nomade is the sister hotel to Be Tulum and shares the same beachfront, which is one of the best in Tulum. The beach scene is very chill, with great music and lots of people watching. The bride & groom will be staying at Be Tulum. If you want to be very close by, this is a great option. Note: some rooms have an outdoor bathroom. Be Tulum

Price: $$$ This is definitely one of the most luxurious hotel options on the strip. Similar to attached sister hotel, Nomade, Be Tulum has a serious jungle vibe going on. You walk through a dense path of lush trees to get to the rooms, which are artfully decorated with overpriced bohemian artifacts. They often have DJs playing for a relaxed and chill beach party. Great decor, service, food, and cocktails. Also like Nomade, breakfast is included. Really one-of-a kind vibe here - sophisticated luxury in the jungle! Bride & groom are staying here in a suite. We don't expect many people to stay here due to the price, but if you're looking to splurge, this has the best combo of nature, social scene and luxury. Ahau Tulum

Price: $-$$ A very fun, lively, colorful vibe here. More welcoming and friendly vibe than Nomade and Be Tulum (which are more artsy & exclusive). A large and beautiful hotel property, high quality restaurant as well as a smaller health food spot called Raw Love attached (smoothies, coffee, acai). The beach front has plenty of room and is located by a beach bar for easy access to margs & mezcal. Definitely a great option for hanging out during the day at the beach. Daily yoga in the main hotel area. They have a lot of variety in rooms, with smaller ones starting at $180. They all have AC, some of the mid-priced rooms for $350+ are very spacious and have wonderful balcony views. Overall, great bathrooms and decor. Truly a gem! Highly recommend for price point, atmosphere, food. Not to mention, they have 2 hotel dogs that are super cute. One more thing - this is right in the middle of the main strip. Just steps away from the wedding venue and best restaurants.

Price: $$ A chic, calm boutique beach front hotel. Not as colorful or exuberant as Ahau, but has a more sophisticated, chill vibe. An excellent beach scene, restaurant and hotel property. More of a Nomade/Be Tulum vibe for a lower price point. They also have a variety of room sizes and price points. The bathrooms were very cool with large cement tubs, the feeling like you were outside, although still having the convenience of an indoor bathroom. Another lesser known gem - we were very impressed. Definitely recommend this place - absolutely beautiful and very well priced. Also note - it's next door to Ahau, where we anticipate many other guests will stay. That also means you're located right in the heart of the Tulum strip where the best restaurants, bars and shops are all just steps away (not to mention the wedding venue!).

Kanan

Price: $$ "This is for the party people," or so our hotel guide said. This hotel was opening the day we were leaving Tulum, so we only ever saw it while it was empty and getting the finishing touches ready for its grand opening. It has a hilarious, fantastical Flintstone vibe, but done in a really fun, high quality way. They have an outrageous pool with a swim-up bar, grotto, and a little cove where you can apparently get bottle service. It looks like an absolute blast. The rooms were shockingly large with really cool wooden tubs, high quality showers and amenities. Pretty sure all rooms have a beach front view and a terrace. Really cool rooftop - not many of those in Tulum. It has a restaurant as well as a bar on the roof with expansive jungle and beach views. Great for the 'gram. The prices are currently pretty low because they are only a few weeks old - great way to take advantage of early pricing at a new and exciting place.

Price $$-$$$ If you want to feel like you're in Tuscany, Mexico and Napa all at once, stay here. Flowers and vines decorate brick and stucco buildings. Absolutely stunning and seclusive vibe. I imagine celebrities staying here under the radar. Relatively small property with a restaurant perched atop a hill that overlooks the water and their narrow, but pristine beach front. If everyone stayed here, it would be a party, but I expect that most of the time it is quiet and relaxing. Further down the strip from the main area of restaurants, which you trade for this unmatched, secluded oasis vibe.

COCO Limited

Price: $$-$$$ COCO Limited has a very clean, crisp vibe. Everything is white, fresh and new. It has a small pool and a great beachfront. Overall, a friendly and hip ambiance with more modern design. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are well designed with good lighting, showers, etc. The restaurant has a small bar. The open-aired restaurant overlooks the beach scene. Just below, you'll find lounge beds and a row of swings and hammocks. An excellent option.

Alaya

Price: $$ Alaya is a smaller property that emphasizes sustainability. The rooms have a rustic tree-house feel. AC only runs 7pm - 9am. They have bikes you can rent right on the property for a very low price ($10/day). Their beach front is small, but intimate and relaxed. The hotel is centrally located in the strip, just a few minute walk from the wedding venue and Tulum's best restaurants. They are right across the street from a new plaza with an excellent cafe with smoothies, juices, toasts, coffee and more. A great option to be out and about with a quiet, relaxing place to come home to.

Casa Ganesh

Price: $ A narrow and small boutique hotel located right in the heart of town. A small beach front, bikes and just a few rooms make this a convenient and efficient option! If you want to spend a lot of your time exploring the many things to see in Tulum, this is a budget-friendly and centrally located gem. The rooms are efficient, but have spacious bathrooms and an authentic design touch. No restaurant at this hotel, however you're just steps away from the many options on the main strip.

Tita Tulum

Price: $ The epitome of original Tulum charm. A small property where less than a dozen bungalows face each other in a semi circle around the quaint and charming beachfront. You won't find frills or modern luxuries here, however, Tita Tulum is warm, inviting and sprinkled with hammocks for reading beside the beach. The staff was incredibly friendly and the hotel is located right at the center of the main strip, making it super accessible to all the nightlife and surrounding hotels. An excellent, clean and authentic option that you will not regret!
