Gen Korean BBQ House
If you are spending some extra time here and are looking to try one of our favorite spots, Gen is definitely one of our go-to spots. Affordable all you can eat with tons of options, Anthony and I enjoy the sweet and spicy beef belly, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! (You can easily join the waitlist on yelp before heading in, there are also multiple locations so check out which is closure to you.)
Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse
If you are looking to splurge and have an amazing meal, try out the place we went to right before getting engaged. Unlimited steak, salad bar, and my favorite the Brazilian cheese with honey. They have amazing desserts but don't say I didn't warn you; it is $65 a plate so definitely go with an appetite and know that you'll leave wanting to go back again and again. I do recommend making a reservation and expect a 15–20-minute wait once you get there. Please let me know if you go!
Calitacos Restaurant
We lovvvvvve Mexican food and since moving to Phoenix we have found very few places that get it right, and these people know what they are doing. We drive 20 minutes for these tacos, and it is worth it every time. I recommend the Birria quesadilla with a side of consommé preperada , and Anthony's go to is a taco plate, with a side of buffalo wings and fries.
Handel's Homemade Ice Cream- Tempe Marketplace
If you know me, you know I LOVE ice cream, and Handles is top notch. They are reasonably priced with an incredible number of flavors, you can mix and match your ice creams into a milkshake like me or get a banana split like Anthony, there isn't a wrong choice! There are multiple locations in the area, but this one is closest to the venue.
Phoenix Zoo
If you are looking for something to pass the time, the zoo is a great option! Tons of things to see and at a great time of year you won't mind being outside!
PopStroke
A really fun take on minigolf! Anthony and I love to come here for so many reasons, they have all day play you can decide to leave and come back, and they are open fairly late, there are two 18-hole courses that you can play as well as mini games like cornhole foosball and ping pong. They have a full restaurant and have amazing milkshakes and are even able to deliver drinks to you on the course! A really fun time if you were looking for something to do.
