In this day and age, it’s not surprising to hear of people finding their true love on a dating app, and that’s exactly how we found each other. After matching we would spend hours talking about some of our favorite things, like anime and sushi. It wasn’t long until Anthony asked me out on our first date (he took me out for sushi of course!); how could I say no? Anthony was new to the area and didn’t know a good place to have sushi. I told him “It’s okay, I’ll figure out where we could meet halfway.” we settled on meeting at Kawa Japanese Restaurant at 6 p.m. I was so nervous the day I even ended up being late to the date (Anthony would now tell you that that is normal for me). We decided on doing introductions in the parking lot to get rid of any nerves or awkwardness before we sat down for dinner. Our first date was amazing, I couldn’t wait to go on another.
We were out running errands and Anthony asked me to open his glove compartment. This didn’t strike me as strange since he keeps a lot of things in there, but when I opened it there was huge jewelry box. I gave him a look, he knows the look; I asked him “When did you have time to go out to buy me something?” He just told me to open the box and I did. Inside that box was another box and inside that box was another box, and inside that box was…yes, another box. It was fun and frustrating at the same time; however, I finally got to the last one! I thought to myself, “Is this…What I think it is?!?!” because it was a small black box. Hold on… “I can’t get ahead of myself”. (Secretly, I had been hoping he would propose to me.) Anthony stopped me from opening the last box and in a nervous voice he said, “I know you paid off your car, Are you ready for another big commitment?” It was then that I opened the box and Anthony asked Will you marry me? I was just beside myself and in La La Land. While I sat there admiring the ring with shock and awe, Anthony, had clear his throat he asked “Is that a yes?” I clearly did not hear THE question! Then I realized I did not say anything and came back to reality. That is when I found my voice and said YES!
