After graduating from ASU and moving back home, Katherine focused on applying for jobs while staying with her good friend Madelaine for a few days. Madelaine had the brilliant idea to invite her handsome cousin over. Katherine was prepped beforehand that the cousin, Anthony, looked like a Disney prince and was a stockbroker. Anthony forgot to get her phone number once Katherine went back to Douglas, but the next day he asked Madelaine for her number. The rest is history.

Last Christmas, Anthony invited Katherine to join his family on a trip to Australia to visit his brother and girlfriend. A few days into the trip, Katherine searched the luggage for a ring. When she came up empty-handed, she asked Anthony what his timeline was, and he replied that they would get engaged by the summer. Katherine accepted that answer and continued to enjoy the kangaroos in Australia. On December 30th, along with Anthony’s parents and older brother, they went to the zoo. Anthony asked Katherine if she wanted a picture in front of the sign. Although Katherine didn’t particularly care for her outfit, she figured that since he offered, it seemed like a nice idea. Anthony handed his phone to his mom, and all of a sudden, he went down on one knee and asked Katherine the question she had been dreaming about forever. As Katherine said yes, the zoo-goers cheered, and here we are today! (And yes, Anthony did ask Don’s permission beforehand!)
