Taxi's are readily available in the main areas of Bali (Legian, Seminyak, Kuta). We recommend you always use BlueBird Taxis and ask for a meter. This is a reliable Taxi service and the meter will prevent you getting ripped off! Your hotel should be able to hail you a BlueBird, otherwise it is easy to hail one yourself. Some hotels offer a free shuttle service. You may be approached by people in the street asking if you want transport. We suggest you politely decline.
NO! Your hotel will provide fresh water bottles every day for drinking. Katelyn, being a little pedantic, even brushes her teeth with the bottled water! Anthony just uses the tap water and he survives.
We would like to call our dress code "Bali Formal" We recommend a cocktail or summer dress for girls and chino pants with a linen shirt for the boys (no ties needed). The reception area is air-conditioned.
Please arrive at the Ceremony by 10am. Remember that traffic in Bali can be crazy and unpredictable so please allow enough time to get there.
We have been to Bali MANY times! Please contact us if you would like some hotel recommendations.
The venue is easy to get to by Taxi and most Taxi drivers will know of it. You can organise a taxi yourself or through your hotel. Your hotel may also offer a driver service.
step 1: Find a taxi (preferably a BlueBird). Ask your hotel to hail one or go out to the street and wave at an empty one going past. Note: a lot of taxis may beep at you and slow down wanting your ride but just shake your head until you find one you want. Step 2: Get in the taxi and say 'Meter please" and where you want to go. sometimes it helps to have a screenshot of maps on your phone. Step 3: As you are traveling, get the money ready for when you arrive. You will see the price on the meter go up so as it goes up, pull out more money. (This step is optional but we recommend it as you may have to quickly jump out on the side of the road when you arrive at your destination. Step 4: Arrive at your destination and pay the driver. It is also nice to pay a tip. If the fare is $2-3 we usually pay $5 (50,000 rupiah). This is a small difference to us but it makes a big difference to the driver. Say "Terima kasih" meaning "thank you" on your way out. DONE
