Anthony and Kalen briefly connected in 2019 - where we enjoyed a Happy Hour date and a very memorable "steaming" first kiss next to Powell Street Bart Station. While the second time we connected was not a date, it was memorable - we ran into each other at the classic SF late night bar, Comet Club. We loosely stayed in touch the next year or so, with flirty fire emoji DM exchanges and a few run ins in the Marina. Some call it fate (some call it Anthony being an insane basketball fan) but as Anthony was watching the 2020 Eastern Conference Finals in the NBA Bubble, he saw Kalen virtually sitting courtside. Anthony was reminded of her beauty on the TV that night, and it brought back memories of how much they clicked a year prior. He decided he had to make his move to reconnect. A few texts later, we met back up for our second first date at Fort Mason. Kalen never hesitated to accept a second first date. From the beginning she always described spending time with Anthony as fun, light hearted and comfortable. Looking back, she now knows this meant she'd never felt so secure and able to be herself with someone before. From there, we spent many Covid dates drinking to-go double Irish Coffees from Buena Vista + plenty of takeout picnics at Crissy Beach and Palace of Fine Arts. While we waited for the world to open, we had unique chance to truly get to know each other without distractions. Our first year dating, we spent living a block away from each other in North Beach - trying every Italian restaurant and gelato place in the neighborhood. Between Half Moon Bay / Santa Cruz trips, Warrior games, concerts, Friday Night dinners and Bay Club dates - we quickly knew that we had something special, and that this love was it for us. Cue a few years later, we moved in together! Soon after, Anthony made the call to Nicole to start planning how he was going to ask Kalen to marry him. Lots of coordinating and white lies to his new roomie later - led us to the Ritz Carlton at Half Moon Bay. Anthony got down on one knee, Kalen said YES and then proceeded to cry (happy tears) for the next 48 hours!! We are so lucky to have found each other, and can’t wait to celebrate becoming the Delaurentis with all our favorite people!
