For those not familiar with the vastness of California, LA is located about 120 miles North of San Diego. While I've made the journey, at times, in less than 90 miles (by choosing the drive there super early in the am) generally, the drive to LA will take you about 3 hours as the traffic there is REAL!! In LA, there is so much to do, yet so little time. For those visiting California, I would suggest planning a few days in which to visit LA's diverse and eclectic people, locations and foods. I would also suggest you after getting setting in San Diego, instead of attempting to drive to LA, book a flight to LAX then Uber around. It will save you the massive headaches you will surely get from the insane traffic. Also, LA's Afrobeats and Reggae locales are amazing!!
Located approx 3 miles from Downtown San Diego, 8 miles from San Diego International Airport and about 16 miles from our home sits Coronado Beach. Enroute to the beach, you'll cross the sweeping, 200-foot-high San Diego-Coronado Bridge which treats you to one of the best views in all of San Diego, as you descend upon the charming and picturesque oceanfront community of Coronado.
