In the early days of 2020, two weeks past my epic return from a deployment that decided to overstay its welcome—I met Anthony. My mood was a spectacular blend of relief and crankiness. Anthony, blissfully unaware of my recent orders to stay deployed an extra 6 months, was deep in his computer training when I barged in unceremoniously and demanded he vacate the premises. His response? A cool, calm, and collected "go away". Ah, love at first fight. Our initial disdain for each other was palpable. We were like oil and water—if oil and water constantly bickered about computer usage. Fate, having a weird sense of humor, threw us onto the same shift and that’s when the magic started. He'd say I was annoying; I’d critique his loud chewing. It was through these loving exchanges that I realized he was the one. Fast forward to a party we both attended (because who can resist a good party)? Anthony, ever the charmer, asked me the question that would change everything: “Can you pass me a drink?” *Swoon* Yes, the foundations of our relationship were built on such profound dialogue. We spent the rest of the night diving into the monumental topics of whether pineapple belonged on pizza and the correct way to hang toilet paper. Weeks of what I’ll generously call ‘courtship’ ensued until Anthony finally asked me out. I was nonplussed yet also thrilled—go figure. As time went on through countless bickers and loving squabbles, we are still passionately debating the little things. Things like whether our son Julian got his stubborn streak from Anthony or his delightful knack for interruptions from me. Through thick and thin, loud chewing and computer skirmishes, we’ve learned that love isn’t about being the same. It’s about being perfect for each other. And every day with Anthony and Julian is a reminder of just how perfectly imperfect our lives can be. Welcome to our wedding page! We cannot wait to celebrate the ultimate upgrade from partners-in-bickering to partners-in-law with all of you. See you at the altar where we promise to chew quietly and love loudly!
