Anthony and Claire met in nursing school at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Which is funny because they had both previously been attending college in the Twin Cities before each deciding to change their majors and transfer to Eau Claire that same year. They both joined the same study group and then became really good friends right away and spent a lot of their time together. This lasted for about a year until they finally realized their feelings for one another and decided to give dating a whirl!

Anthony knew he wanted to propose early in the Spring but then COVID-19 hit and suddenly everything was shut down. Since he wanted to be able to pick out a ring in person he took the time to research and waited for stores to start opening back up, and as soon as they did he wasted no time. Stores opened on a Monday, Anthony had the ring and the father-in-law's blessing by Thursday, and that Friday morning they were engaged! Claire had just gotten back from a long night shift and came home to find a big breakfast prepared with candles and music, and also resting on the table was an adventure book. The adventure book took them through everything they had done together over the last year and a half and towards the end started alluding to all the adventures yet to come. The very last page said to "Turn around," and there was Anthony on one knee! Such a special moment, the rest of the day was spent telling loved ones and celebrating!

The last year has been a complete whirlwind! 2020 kicked off with Anthony and Claire graduating college together and going on a trip to Hawaii to celebrate. The trip was absolutely amazing, but after coming home it was time to buckle down and study because they both had the NCLEX RN exam coming up - luckily they both passed and were able to start their first nursing jobs in February! Claire has been working at Abbott Northwestern's Neuroscience unit, and Anthony started at United on their cardiac/tele unit but has since moved to their ICU. The two also were super excited to welcome home their fur baby Clifford Dale LaTour in late February. He has been the perfect pup! Since the proposal there has been a lot of wedding planning and everything is finally starting to come together. June 25, 2021 can't come soon enough!
