COVID-19 Update

Please read

After much deliberation, we have decided that despite the uncertainty of the world today, we really want to be married in 2020. We plan to have a small, socially-distanced ceremony in August with only family and a few close friends. We will be having a reception next summer for everyone that won’t be able to make it to the ceremony. Stay tuned for more details and thank you for your understanding and support.

How We Met...

First comes Tinder, then comes marriage!

It was a cold, gloomy, and foggy November day. Just a few days after Thanksgiving, Anthony and Casey were both feeling thankful for their families and the wonderful life they both lived. However, one thing was missing: finding true love to share life’s journey with. Casey thought, why not try Tinder, which is an online dating site. She came across a handsome guy who seemed very sweet, interesting, and had a genuine face. She swiped “right” with hopes that he would maybe come across her Tinder profile and also swipe “right”. Casey later checked her Tinder updates and Anthony had matched with her! Seconds later, he started messaging her, and from there they felt comfortable to exchange phone numbers. After a week of messaging, Anthony asked to meet her in person. She accepted and he asked if she wanted to go for a day hike, (knowing full well how much she loved the outdoors and any woodsy trail in Oregon). Being a savvy and cautious lady, Casey declined the hike with thoughts that a first meeting should be at a public restaurant. So Anthony suggested the Bier Stein in Eugene. They planned to meet at 5 in the afternoon for dinner. The moment Casey walked into the restaurant, Anthony knew she was the one. They sat down and couldn’t take their eyes off one another. It took them two hours just to pick what they wanted to eat for dinner. At the end of the night, Anthony walked Casey to her car and planted a kiss right on her lips. At that moment it was the beginning of a life-long partnership.

The Proposal

The Lighthouse Surprise...

Anthony said “I love you“ to Casey for the first time at Yaquina Lighthouse in Newport Oregon. He knew that was the location he wanted to take Casey to ask for her hand in marriage. Anthony had it planned for many months leading up to the actual proposal. On June 1st, 2019, Casey and Anthony awoke in Newport as they had on many prior occasions. However, this morning seemed a bit different, Casey quickly noticed. Normally, Anthony is relaxed and likes his quiet, slow mornings on the coast, making coffee and breakfast, enjoying the first part of the day. Today was a different, he woke Casey up and told her he was ready to go and seek adventure for the day. Casey knew something was different, but went right along with her honey's plans for the day. He got her into the car and decided to take her straight to the lighthouse. They arrived and Casey was noticing Anthony and how nervous he was getting. She didn’t ask what was going on for she had a feeling she was entering the state park as a girlfriend and possibly leaving as a bride-to-be. It was a very beautiful morning; sun was shining with blue skies for miles. The lighthouse was filled with people enjoying the scenery and the birds flying all around. He walked her over to the same spot he said “I love you” for the first time. He didn’t care about all the other people around. Anthony got on one knee and popped the question. He took the ring out and put it on Casey’s finger. She said yes as she cried with joy in his arms. A dream come true, the whole rest of the day felt like heaven.
