We met back in August 2020 back when we use to work with each other. I got hired on about a week or so after Candice did but we started training at the same time. At first conversation wasn’t much more than a hello or bye type of situation, but there was one day for training (some 2 months after we initially met each other ) where we had been partnered up with each other. After we completed the training thing we had a few mins left to talk while the others finished their training activity. I said somethings that made her giggle and she did the same for me so I asked if I could get lunch with her and she said sure! From that day forth she and I went to lunch EVERY single day. We had our first date on Christmas Eve 2020! The feeling’s between us grew stronger until I took the leap of faith and asked her to be my girlfriend. I was so nervous to the point where it took 2 weeks for me to build the nerve to finally ask the question!
Planning the proposal was a 4 month long process. It started when I bought the ring in August. The next step was me figuring out how to do it in a way that would surprise her. She’s very smart and not much gets past her so I figured around the holidays would be too cliché but on my actual birthday (12/03) would be just the surprise needed. So I asked her parents and siblings if they would help set up the house with the decorations I had purchased while Candice and I were at dinner and they said ABSOLUTELY! The moments leading up to us leaving dinner I had texted all of my friends and family that were at the dinner and sent them the address to the house where we were going to have an “after party” and I waited until everyone was in their way before we left to go to the house. Once we got to the house she could tell something was going on but she didn’t know what exactly it was since it was dark in the house with nothing but the lights from the decorations on. When we made it to the living room, that is where the rose pedals were laid out in a heart shape and Candice and I stood there in the middle of them and I got down on my knee and popped the ultimate question. “Will you marry me?”
