Flight

SLA

> Salta has 2 international routes: LIM - Lima, Peru (LATAM) and PTY - Panama City, Panama (Copa Airlines). > Salta's 2 main domestic routes with international connections: Buenos Aires (EZE and AEP) and Mendoza (MDZ). There are 3 airlines that serve the domestic routes: Aerolineas Argentina (usually includes a free carry on), JetSmart (pay for carry-ons and checked bags), and one that we don't recommend due to frequent flight changes and cancellations Flybondi (pay per bag, per leg). > Note on flying into Buenos Aires: There are 2 airports in Buenos Aires, Aeroparque (AEP) and Ezeiza (EZE). There is a bus company, Tienda Leon, that has a route between the airports. Taxi/Uber is also an option to change airports. Travel time between airports should be roughly 45 minutes. > Other Note: Flying through Santiago de Chile (SCL) can also be an option for those with more time to travel. There are direct flights from there to Mendoz or Buenos Aires. For the adventurous, there are buses that go between Santiago and Mendoza which take about 8 hours. I would not recommend it in late spring though due to the possibility of snow storms which can close the pass for days.

Hotel

Hostería la Caldera

La Caldera, Salta, Argentina
 +543874817948

This is where our wedding is going to be held and is about a 20-30 minute drive from Salta. It will be a great option for some to spend the night after the wedding but there's not much in La Caldera so I wouldn't recommend spending more than a couple nights. Our guests should recieve a discount. I'll post more details when I get the info.

Travel Note

Notes on where to stay

As mentioned above, La Caldera is a small pueblo north of the city of Salta without much in it. It is off of a scenic, but very narrow and winding, road that goes north to the province of Jujuy. Other than the night of the wedding, I would recommed staying in the city. Good areas to stay are Downtown (el centro), Tres Cerritos, and San Lorenzo. There are other areas that would be fine to stay but it can be hit or miss. Use google maps street view or ask us if you're not sure.

Rental Car

Noa Rent a Car

1 Buenos Aires, Salta, Salta A4400, Argentina

This is a local rental car company that we and our visitors have used a few times. Their rates are usually among the cheapest and they are by far the cheapest to provide the option to go to Chile. Unfortunatly they do not provide an option for full coverage insurance.

Fit Car Rental

Salta, Salta A4400, Argentina

Another argentinian rental car company we have used before that usually has reasonably rates. Unlike Noa they have different insurance options but their option to go to Chile is quite a bit more expensive.
