We met at our place of work - (The Old Spaghetti Factory). It was during my first week on the job when I was introduced to Anthony. Polite and professional, he seemed like an all around nice guy. It took a few months for me to see him as more than just one big goofball, but I eventually took the opportunity to go and see a movie with him and his best friend one weekday night. Let's just say, I spent an hour getting ready - and then another 40 minutes driving from my house to the theater that they decided to go to across town. Excited at the possibility of getting to sit next to Anthony during a 2.5 hour suspenseful film, I was not too thrilled when his best friend decided to sit right between us in the middle seat throughout the entire film. (Thanks DJ). Fast forward to May 29th, 2016. After being stood up by a date, I reached out to Anthony to see if he would be at all interested in attending the Portland Night Market with me, "like, right now"... Luckily, he agreed! We spent the evening looking at all types of handmade goods, chatting with small business owners, and tasting new things like mushroom jerky and saffron-orange flavored ice cream. Eventually, I had my heart set on buying myself a new candle from one of the vendors, but I couldn't decide on which one to buy - and could only really afford one as they cost a pretty penny. After about 20 minutes of indecisiveness, Anthony asked me which two I was having a hard time choosing between - and then bought them both for me. In that moment, I thought to myself - "Yep. He's a keeper". Fast forward to October 6th, 2023 - over 7 years later. Anthony took me back to the Portland Night Market, a place where we frequently visit at least once a year. It was there where we had our first date together all of those years ago, and it was there where he asked me to marry him.
