Our Love Story

I lay my face against the Beloved's face. Everything fell away and I left myself behind, abandoning my cares among the lilies, forgotten. - Saint John of the Cross

Although i attended school with Lucia's cousins for years, our paths never crossed until August 26, 2023, at a USC game. As i entered Vincenzo's house I learned that Lucia and her sister Noemi would join us. Though i had briefly met Lucia earlier that summer her beauty struck me, Yet it was more than her appearance i sensed something. When we reached the stadium Lucia sat next to me, we exchanged small talk about work and school, and i found myself enjoying the conversation and her company. After the game, as we returned to Vincenzo's house, i knew i had to get her number. As i said my goodbyes, i spotted Lucia alone in the Kitchen. I approached her, but in a moment of hesitation, i shook her hand and left, a decision i very much regret. A few days later, i ended up texting her and my feelings for her grew. From that moment everything changed, our relationship deepened, and i realized quickly how deeply i was falling for her. Lucia not only brought joy in my life but also gently guided me closer to Christ. There was a profound sense of peace that enveloped me whenever i was with her a love that was patient, kind, and unwavering. I knew very early only without a doubt that she was the one that God wanted for me. -Anthony Clark From the moment i met Anthony i quickly realized i never met any man like him, his kindness and genuine personality struck me right away. I still remember like it was yesterday when we met at the USC game, i remember sitting next to him on purpose and pretending to not know anything about football so that he could explain it to me. From that day our conversation flowed with ease even days after that our connection grew. From early on i knew immediately that Anthony was the man i was going to marry. I never met someone who loved me as much as he did and showed me constantly what i meant to him. I knew that it was love when he would drive three hours in LA traffic after a night of ongoing fires and only four hours of sleep so that he could see me. I knew it was love when we would take our daily stroll at Irvine Park where we would pray the rosary together. I knew it was love when he would encourage me to pray every morning with him. I knew it was love when he truly respected me and loved me for who i was. I knew it was love when he would arrive at my house early on his days off to help me take my six younger siblings to school and to pick them up in the afternoon. But most importantly i knew he was the one because he inspired me to be a better person in my life, in my faith, and when he would teach me the virtues that he possessed. I've seen his love and respect for his parents and mine. I've seen his prudence and wisdom when making decisions. I've seen his reverence and spiritual life. And most importantly I've seen his love, patience, and kindness for me and my family.....As we get closer to our wedding i have realized how truly blessed i am to have someone like him for the rest of my life. I pray that our relationship brings us closer to God and I pray that our love may continue to grow. - Lucia Munoz
