We are Married!

Dear Friends and Family, We wanted to check in given the changing climate due to the coronavirus outbreak. With a heavy hart at this time, we have decided to cancel our wedding. We first met at DeAnza college in 2006 through mutual friends. We were both very young and dating other people at the time, even though we secretly flirted with each other. Fast forward to spring 2014 we started chatting again. A cute Facebook comment sent in June 2014 and we started to officially date in August.

Herland decided to take me on a family vacation to our favorite destination (Hawaii). We spent a week there and he was very adamant on taking a family photo at sunset. Day after day we kept pushing it off and falling asleep early after our fun adventures from the day. Finally, on our last night we got dressed and all ready to take our family photo. It started to rain and the sky was grey and gloomy, but Herland was determined to get this family photo taken before our last night. Finally, the rain stopped and the sun made its way past the grey skies. He nervously tried to set up the camera, but he decided to ask an innocent bystander to take pictures. I was facing the sunset with Eva in my arms and when I turned around Herland was on one knee asking me to marry him. Of course I said "YES!"
