Anthony and Leah first crossed paths at their CrossFit box, stealing glances between workouts. Leah thought Anthony was far too old for her; Anthony thought Leah was some sort of barbell wizard. They met in 2020—Anthony deep in his final law exams, Leah navigating a demanding set of her own—all while the world was shutting down thanks to COVID. Time, timing, and convenience were very much not on their side. According to Ant, Leah blew him off for coffee one too many times. According to Leah, he ghosted her (though we all know Ant isn’t the best at replying to messages… or charging his phone). Eventually, when the stars aligned between training, work, and surviving a global pandemic, they decided the perfect first date would be to make each other a sandwich.
