Savannah's hospitality runs deep, even in the workplace! While I, Ansley, had been working at Visit Savannah for a few years, Jake was a fresh face, just starting his internship with the Savannah Sports Council in the same building. The race director came to my desk on Jake's first day suggesting I needed to meet the 'cute intern.' Admittedly, I wasn't exactly looking or thought to look for love at the office, so I laughed her off. Fate, however, had other plans. As luck would have it, we bumped into each other in the hallway. We exchanged small talk and went back to work, where I quickly called up to the race director asking her to tell me more about the intern! Jake said he was smitten from our first exchange. The following week, during a team happy hour, I playfully suggested we should invite the sports intern. My coworkers couldn't get their phones out fast enough to make it happen. Jake arrived and as the night went on, one by one, our colleagues drifted home, but Jake and I stayed, getting to know each other better. By the end of the evening, Jake had asked me out on a date and the rest, as they say, is history!
