In 2020, mutual friend Elise Miller invited AJ to hang out with her friends for a movie night. Little did he know, his future wife was in the room! AJ and Brittany met that night watching the horror show, "The Haunting of Hill House" (which, in hindsight, is wild, now knowing how afraid Brittany is of all things scary movies). AJ and Brittany quickly became friends, but graduation and the natural busyness of life separated them. Then came 2022. One day while scrolling on Instagram, AJ noticed a post highlighting Brittany's birthday, and decided to reach out (seeing as he hadn't talked to her in years). He asked her to coffee, hoping to catch up, and Brittany agreed. Unfortunately, the first coffee chat fell through. But, luckily for AJ, Brittany decided to give him a second chance. AJ invited Brittany to meet him at Harvey Bakery on a Sunday afternoon, and showed up 2 hours early to make sure they had a table ready. And luckily he did, as that was when he found out Harvey was closed on Sundays. Pivoting to Not Your Average Joe coffee shop, he waited patiently until she walked in. The moment she did, and this is a direct quote, AJ immediately remembered "how absolutely gorgeous Brittany was". The planned 1 hour coffee chat turned into 4 hours of reminiscing, catching up, and laughing their butts off. Immediately after, he asked her out to a date to Charlestons (if you know, you know), and the rest is history!
