Most of you have heard it before: the classic tale of friends who fell in love… We first met as teenagers in our hometown, Robertson. Sparks didn't exactly fly as we ate spaghetti and I messed all over the place for Yoeri to clean up. A couple of years later, though, we became good friends. We spoke often about all the sorts of things you believe are important at that age. From coffee catch-ups and playing golf, to getting sushi and eating it on the roof of the farm shed, we loved each other's company...though we'd never have admitted to these being dates. We only became a little braver when I went to China during my gap year. We stayed up chatting more nights than we could manage nowadays. Yoeri made sure I didn't spend Christmas or any other important day alone while I was so far away from home. At this point it was all too obvious. Soon after I returned from China, we went on our first "official" date. Except, it didn't feel like a first date at all. The butterflies were there of course, but we already knew we were in it for the long run...
