to have and to hold

We met at a car meet at the Taco Bell in Middle River. He was the shy, quiet one; and Alyssa was the obnoxious, loud one. We quickly developed a friend group, and one day he was the only person who came prepared with chairs- so we all sat in them. He was ready to go home and gathered all the chairs, but said Alyssa could keep hers for the night. Matthew then asked for her phone number so she could eventually return the chair to him. One thing lead to another, and they texted all night... And now here they are!

From housewarming party, to engagement party. Matthew surprised Alyssa as they were opening the last gift: a Christmas ornament that said "Engaged". Alyssa hadn't even read the ornament before she looked over to Matthew on one knee. Alyssa then proceeded to ugly cry in front of all of their friends and family... a lot of people.
