After asking a question at Singles Night and seeing the other do the same, we both joined a Singles Kickback group as a step of faith — choosing to trust God and try again. No pressure, no agenda, just two beating hearts meeting at the right place and the right time. One group night eventually led to our first real introduction: “I follow you on Instagram.” “And I followed you back.” Both statements were true. We had followed each other long before we ever met in person, but once we finally did, getting us to stop talking became nearly impossible. One conversation turned into another, and before long, Maverick City became the topic of discussion — not the wings we had just finished eating. For me, my first moments with him felt both foreign and familiar. Foreign because I didn’t know this man from Adam, yet familiar because somehow, it felt like I had known him my entire life. And for me, meeting Brianna felt much the same. I had seen her on Instagram and admired the joy and laughter she carried into every space. I didn’t know her personally, but everything in me wanted to. We exchanged our first texts that Friday night, and truthfully, we haven’t stopped talking since. What started in community quickly became what our Union Church family lovingly calls a “Union Love Story.” And while we could go into detail about why that name fits so well, most times we just laugh and agree. Every group we joined, every mutual friend we met, and every moment we quietly noticed one another before making a move happened within the context of Union community — and for that, we are deeply grateful. But this is more than just a Union love story. This is #AnotherBrownLoveStory. For Brianna, that phrase carries even more meaning. Long before “Brown” became her future last name, she always dreamed of having a beautiful love story of her own — one marked by faith, joy, friendship, and intentional love. Now, by God’s grace, she gets both: the love story she prayed for and the last name Brown. And for Aubrey, this story is a testimony of what can happen when you place your love story fully into God’s hands and trust Him with the outcome. What started as surrender turned into answered prayer, unexpected joy, and a love neither of us could have written better ourselves. Look at what the Lord has done. What began in a group became a love story we can only attribute to the greatest Author known to man. And if you know Him, then you know some of the best love stories really do write themselves.
