Technically, we “met” in 2019—if you count Julie texting Bubby the night before St. Patrick’s Day saying, “I met someone that you need to meet.” That someone was Snoop. The interaction lasted a solid 30 seconds. We were both too awkward to even look at each other, so went back to our respective parties. A classic meet-cute... minus the meet or the cute. Fast forward a year: Right before the world shut down during Covid, a young Snoop came back again to Chicago to party. Bubby just got back from spring break, sick, and did not want to be patient zero. Sparks could've flown that day and paths could've crossed, but instead fate had us wait another year. Cut to two years later, Snoop just happened to be in town (again), and Annu and Vineeth are headed to Roshan and Julie's proposal party. Annu casually asked Roshan if Snoop could tag along, and Roshan hit her with, “Tell Snoop to bring his A-game.” Spoiler: He did. We finally talked - and haven't stopped since. From there it was 100+ text chains, manifesting cancelled flights so we didn’t have to say goodbye, hours of FaceTime across five cities, and constant reminders for Snoop’s phone to be charging. Now here we are, planning our wedding, laughing about how long it took, and grateful for every twist along the way. To our siblings: thank you for playing Cupid—even if your matchmaking skills had a two-year delay and zero immediate results. We appreciate the persistence and belief that two socially awkward people could someday fall madly in love.
