Our Delayed Love Story...

In the words of the great 21st century poets Erykah Badu and Common "A FRIEND BECAME THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!" AnnMarie and I have been friends for over a decade now. We have seen each other struggle through failed relationship after failed relationship. Many times we were each other’s shoulder to cry on, listening ear for advice, each other cheerleaders. We supported each other in all endeavors even during health issues with family members since family is important to us both. We have shared the same struggle and rewards as single parents. We have seen each other’s children grown and blossom into the fine well-adjusted people they are now. On a fateful night in December 2018, I decided to go to central Florida to celebrate the birthday of my bff Bill and invited AnnMarie to accompany me. I would always invite her out when I was in town and we always had a great vibe. How often do you find someone who shares an appreciation for one of the life’s great combination in history, fireball and Heineken! Lol. Little did I know this was the last night I went out to party as a single man! She instantly became my WonderWall! I was only in town for 24 hours and even though I did not want to leave, I left the next morning. That ride home was the longest ride ever but was very revealing! The thought of a happy future with AnnMarie lingered and permeated my every thought. It was then that I knew that she would eventually become my wife! In the following weeks that followed that night, we spoke, texted, FaceTimed incessantly and utilized the USPS. On the 22nd of December, I decided that I was going to reveal my full intentions to her. Now the methods that I used, only a few know, and WILL remain secret, but I am thrilled she accepted the final rose! In the words of that great 21st century poet, Erykah Badu "My love is hers, and hers is mine, a friend became the love of my life.” To be continued 06.20.2020
