Magnificent Mile/Hancock Tower
Walk 2 blocks West from hotel to Michigan Ave. Take the #3 Bus North straight up the street. The bus takes cash ($2.25 per person each way), but doesn't give change. Get off the bus at the Michigan Ave Bridge, and walk North up the Mag Mile for flagship shopping and world class architecture. It will take about 15 minutes non-stop, but you'll want to give yourself two or three hours to see it all. If you've never been, don't leave Chicago without going up to the top of the Hancock Tower. You can do this for free by asking for the Signature Room Cocktail Lounge, or pay an admission to go to the Observation Deck Floor where they will have exhibits and tours of the city. Larry worked in this neighborhood for 5 years, so he is well familiar with all of the best stops you could visit on this walk - The Michigan Ave Bridge, The Shops at North Bridge, Timothy O'Tooles, Billy Goat Tavern, Wrigley Building, NBC Building, Chicago Tribune, or The Mall at Water Tower Place.
Shedd Aquarium
This amazing world class aquarium will take you right to the middle of Chicago's Museum campus. Even without paying the admission fee you'll get spectacular views of the city lakefront and Grant Park.
Sears Tower Skydeck
Step out 1,365 feet high above the buildings on the 103rd floor. You'll have to wait a substantially long time in line after paying the admission fee.
