Campbell and Annika’s love story began August of 2022 at Elkins High School, his senior year and her junior year. They quickly became inseparable, taking every opportunity to be together. Young love does what it does, bending rules, breaking curfews, all while building memories that last a lifetime. Their first official date was at Beanders on September 30th, where Campbell asked Annika to be his girlfriend. It was around this time that Campbell confidently told Annika that she would be his plus one at his brother’s wedding. She thought he was crazy because it was a year away… little did she know what was to come. Together, they enjoyed fall festivities, county fairs, and their first holiday season. April of 2023, they went to their first prom, and soon after Campbell graduated high school. By August of 2023 Campbell and Annika’s relationship was going to shift from seeing each other almost every day to every couple weeks. Annika had just begun her senior year, while Campbell set off to Tennessee to pursue lineman school. Right before Campbell left on August 31st, he gave Annika a promise ring. As a symbol of his commitment and a promise for forever. In September of 2023, Campbell and Annika celebrated his brother’s wedding together, just as he had assured her they would. Ironically, this fell on the same date as their one-year anniversary. In December, Campbell graduated lineman school, and returned to Elkins. They then attended their second prom, and shortly after Annika graduated high school. Though life continued changing, Campbell and Annika’s love remained constant for each other. In August of 2024 Campbell and Annika made the tough decision to move 4 hours away from their hometown and families, so Campbell could begin his lineman career in Maryland. Though this took a huge leap of faith, they were confident because they had each other and that’s all they needed. Annika started her first semester of college online, and they began building a life together. On September 15, 2024 Campbell took Annika to a beautiful restaurant, and then to Gambrill State Park to watch the sunset. Campbell waited until the perfect moment, got down on one knee, and asked Annika to marry him. Annika’s heart was racing, and happy tears filled her eyes as she replied with a resounding “Yes”. They celebrated their engagement, two-year anniversary and shortly after, made another big decision by adding their fur baby Kylo to the family. It felt like the perfect fit, as Kylo was born on the same day that Campbell had proposed. From high school sweethearts to best friends and now life partners, Campbell and Annika are excited to continue growing, learning, and building their future together.
