Surprise… we’re married! ✨ Our love story has always been about choosing adventure together, and when it came time to say “I do,” a destination elopement just felt right. We traveled to Mexico City—a place meaningful to Brandon—and began our marriage wrapped in beauty, culture, and spirit. We chose our wedding date in honor of Annika’s father, who is no longer with us. She carried his ashes in her bouquet, and we felt his presence with us all day. Our ceremony was filled with symbolism: first, we received a blessing from a priest in a historic cathedral. There may have been a bit of a language barrier (ask Brandon for the full story!), but the holy water shower he gave us left no doubt—we were thoroughly, joyfully blessed. We also incorporated the red thread ritual, inspired by the eastern legend that destined souls are connected by an invisible red thread that never breaks, no matter time or distance. And as if the universe wanted to add its own touch, we were gifted with an unexpected rain shower—good luck in Mexican tradition, and a theme that seems to be following us. Because we had so much fun getting married… we did it again! Part two of our wedding adventure took place back home in Marin for our civil ceremony—once again graced by rain. Annika’s son, Leif, served as her best man and our official witness, making our marriage and family complete. We cherish our photographs and hope you’ll enjoy them as a way to share in our joy and celebrate with us from afar. While we don’t have a date or firm plans yet, we look forward to gathering with all of you in the new year to celebrate our marriage together. Happy Holidays from the newlyweds!
