Annie and Nicholas met at a club event at school in 2011. Annie was the enthusiastic freshman that wanted to get to know everyone. Nick was part of the club and was hosting the event while Annie was volunteering for the day. The event had motivated Annie to join the club the following year, but Nick had left because the four hour weekly Sunday meetings doesn’t exactly scream fun. Despite only meeting in person on that day, the two remained in contact and communicated on Facebook walls (remember those?). One of Nick’s old status was that he wanted a pet monkey. Annie had commented on that status because she shares the same life goals. Nick reconnected with Annie on April 2020 during the pandemic. Despite chatting for a few months, hangout options were limited. The pair met in July 4th, 2020 in Central Park for a picnic. Nick had instructed Annie to bring picnic blankets and Annie thought she was going above and beyond when she brought cupcakes in addition to the blankets. Meanwhile, Nick shows up with cheese, crackers, watermelon, grapes, wine, champagne, and sorbet. Since then, the pair has bonded over their love for traveling, animals (especially Aqua & Salem), soups and fitness (when they are feeling up for it). Because their first date was a picnic, the appropriate hashtag for the wedding will be #AnniePickNick.
