FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests can begin entering the aquarium at 6pm, and we recommend that you arrive on time as the ceremony will start shortly after.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We've noticed that the language around wedding dress codes has gotten a bit confusing. Some call it "semi-formal," some call it "cocktail." Whatever you want to call it — please just dress festively and comfortably. Ties and cufflinks optional. Please no white gowns. If you have a question about whether or not your outfit of choice will be appropriate, please email Maid of Honor Sasha Kiosse at maidofhonorsasha@gmail.com

Question

Can we take pictures during the ceremony and reception?

Answer

During the ceremony, we ask that you put your phones away and enjoy the moment. We have hired a photographer to capture everything, and we promise not to be stingy with the photos. During the reception, photography is encouraged, but please note that there is no flash photography allowed anywhere in the aquarium where there are animals (ie almost anywhere in the aquarium.)

Question

Can I bring a date? What about kids?

Answer

Due to limited capacity, we are not offering +1s to our guests. Everyone who is invited to our wedding will be listed on the invitation received by each household. If you believe that someone has been left off of your invitation by mistake, please email Maid of Honor Sasha Kiosse at maidofhonorsasha@gmail.com for clarification. Invitation write-ins will not be honored.

Question

What role will religion play in this wedding? Do I need to bring my yarmulke?

Answer

This will be a secular wedding officiated by our dear, non-clergical friend Al Chiaravalle. There may be some Catholic and Jewish elements to the wedding that we hope guests will engage with to their comfort level.

Question

What covid precautions will you be taking?

Answer

Since the federal public health emergency (PHE) declaration for covid-19 has been lifted, we will not be requiring testing or masking to attend the wedding. That said, we do ask that all guests be fully vaccinated by the time of the wedding unless they are unable to be vaccinated due to health reasons. And of course, if you are feeling sick, or are concerned that you may have been exposed to any contagious disease, please consider taking precautions such as masking or isolating.
