We were introduced during Summer B at the University of Florida, thanks to a few amazing friends Matthew, Eric, and Jenna, while Ty was visiting Gainesville. Not long after, Annie invited Ty to a sorority date function — Ty was a student at FSU at the time, and he made the first of many drives from Tallahassee to go with her. We started dating, Ty transferred to UF, and we both graduated as proud Gators. Life then took Ty to UAB in Alabama for dental school, and not long after, Annie followed to attend OT school at UAB. From Gainesville to Birmingham, and everywhere in between, our journey has been filled with laughter, growth, and love — and we can't wait for what's next!
Ty had spent months convincing Annie that an engagement ring wasn’t possible during residency, so she never imagined a proposal was anywhere on the horizon. But while they were home for Christmas last year, he quietly searched for the perfect spot in downtown St. Augustine, with his mom and sisters by his side, wanting every detail to be just right. Earlier that year, Ty had made a list of goals—some simple, like avoiding double bogeys, and others heartfelt, like planning meaningful dates and cooking dinner for Annie. This moment was the one he’d been saving for last. The next day, Annie believed they were simply revisiting one of their first hometown date spots. When Ty led her away from the bustle of the main street and toward the marina, she worried for a moment they might be getting on a boat—mostly because she hadn’t packed any Dramamine. But then, in a quiet corner by the water, with his sisters discreetly making sure the moment stayed theirs alone, Ty dropped to one knee and asked Annie to marry him. Through happy tears, laughter, and pure disbelief, she said the easiest, sweetest “yes” of her life.
