How they met: Annie and Nick's story began on an indoor soccer field in 2018. Annie had been on the team for several years, and Nick was asked to join by some Ford friends when the team needed another player. Nick fit in immediately and quickly understood the team mission- try not to lose too badly and join in on going to the bar before or after games. Annie and Nick's friendship grew naturally, and before long, they were spending time together off the field. They enjoyed spending time together as friends, and even went for runs together (which tells you how much they enjoyed spending time together, because you could not pay them to go for runs together now). First date: In 2019, they went on their first date to a Dierks Bentley concert at Pine Knob. Expanding their family: In January 2020, they adopted their first fur child, a cat named Lando. Lando is named after Nick's favorite formula 1 driver, Lando Norris. To keep Lando company, they adopted a second cat in October 2020, Lewis, named after Annie's favorite formula 1 driver, Lewis Hamilton. The first 6 years: In the first six years, they've built a life and home they love- complete with two cats, a garden, and chicken coop. Their favorite moments are the simple ones, relaxing on the couch with Lando and Lewis, spending time with friends and family, playing soccer on Thursday nights, and eating at their favorite restaurant, Maiz. Through many projects, challenges, and milestones, they've continued to support each other's dreams and encourage each other to grow- both as individuals and as partners. They've poured their free time into renovating their 100+ year old house, Annie began and completed her MBA, and Nick and Annie have both gone through job changes and promotions. Now, after building a strong foundation and after 6 years together, they are ready to take a break from home projects and are ready to have a wedding. The Proposal: In 2025, Nick proposed in the ocean at Popham Beach, Maine. Nick's family vacationed there yearly while he was growing up, and Nick even took some of his first steps on that beach. The trip included some great seafood, a day trip to Portland, and kite flying on the beach. The Wedding: Now, 6+ years from their first date, Nick and Annie are ready to have a party and get married. They have shared countless memories, adventures, and quiet moments- and have stood by each other through both the good times and the hard ones. Their love has grown stronger through every chapter, from laughter-filled days to seasons of loss and healing. Summer of 2024-2025 was an incredibly difficult season for both of them. They are grateful for their incredible friends and family who have been an anchor- celebrating their joys and supporting them through the challenging days. They feel endlessly grateful for the love and support that has surrounded them from the very beginning and cannot wait to party, eat food, and dance with all of their favorite people who have supported their journey since the beginning.
