This area has become so special to us! Below are some restaurants to check out as you have time! Hobbs Tavern and Brewing: great spot for lunch or dinner, casual sit down place with great beers and ciders Batter Up NH: where our wedding cake is from! They have a great cafe serving breakfast and lunch, additionally they are attached to an awesome antique store Things to do: Take a hike! Local options include Whiteface Mountain and Mount Chocorua (though there are plenty for all skill levels) Castle in the Clouds in Moltonborough Drive the Kancamagus Highway in Conway
This is where we got engaged! Great starting place for checking out Boston! From here we recommend walking down Charles Street (through Beacon Hill) toward the Esplanade and along the Charles River
One of Annie's favorite spots! Absolutely worth walking through. Grab a drink at the Map Room Tea Lounge--this is where we went right after we got engaged!!
Where Annie has lived for the past 4 years. Lots of great shops to pop into, beautiful Brownstone homes to see, and great restaurants! Will link some of our favorite South End restaurants below
We recommend making reservations ahead of time if you plan to go out to a nice dinner! Things book quick, but you can often get a seat at the bar as well. Toro: Spanish Tapas Banyan: Asian Fusion Tapas The Beehive: Great spot for drinks and live music Greystone: Coffee and Pastries Kava: Greek Tapas
Sulmona: Italian (and where we went for our first date!) Van Leeuwen: Our favorite ice cream (multiple locations, but there's one in Harvard Square) Vinyl Bakery: top notch breakfast sandwich & coffee place Area4: very good pizza spot. Is also a cafe in the morning! Ole: authentic Mexican food Gufo: Pizza/Italian, our favorite is their brunch menu!
Mount Major: Near our wedding venue and great views of Lake Winnipesaukee Mount Garfield: One of the first hikes we did together. Stop for breakfast at Polly's Pancakes! You won't regret it. Flume Gorge: Natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The Flume Trail is 2-mile loop. Great kid friendly experience. Book ahead of time for cheaper cost for your ticket! Welch-Dickey Loop Trail: A classic hike suitable for all levels with great views Mount Monadnock: One of the closer hikes if you're coming from Boston Whiteface Mountain: (duh)
RESTAURANTS The Porthole: Awesome outdoor spot with live music in the evenings! Paper Tiger COFFEE The Ugly Duckling Tandem Coffee and Bakery
Note: There is so much to do here and we have not explored this area well! Below was where Annie went when she visited, but the whole area is wonderful, you can't go wrong! Hike: The Beehive--big reward for a short hike, though would not recommend if you are afraid of heights! Food: Annie stayed at The Black Friar Inn in Bar Harbor which was adorable and had great food. Several of the places in Bar Harbor don't take reservations. The Terrace Grille was worth the wait with amazing lobster rolls
