Matt and Annie first met in high school in 2015 through their mutual friend, Jacob. Although Matt had never spoken to Annie before, he was swept away by her looks. Jacob knew he had to introduce Annie to Matt, and being the wingman of the century, Jacob asked Annie what she thought of Matt. She replied, “He’s cute.” A couple days later, Annie walked Jacob to his Spanish class knowing that Matt was there. Nervous, Matt went for it and whispered to Annie, “Can I have your number?” She replied “What???” He whispered again, “Can I have your number?” Ms. Tapia screamed, “Andale! Hey! Get to class!!!” They both laughed and Annie typed her number in Matt’s phone quickly before heading her way out. It was smooth sailing from there on out. Their first date was at the downtown movie theater on Valentine’s Day watching Fifty Shades of Gray. Although that's probably not the best movie to see on a first date, Matt and Annie shared many laughs and hours of conversation. They complimented each other and got along instantly, sharing many similarities and goals in life. 10 years later, the two have been inseparable. From being rebellious teenagers to navigating the challenges of early adulthood, Annie and Matt have been together through it all. They graduated from Sac State together, supported one another, witnessed each other achieve their dream job, crossed a few bucket-list travel destinations such as Hawaii and Japan together, and moved into their first home with their darling dog June. Matt and Annie are finally ready to commit as one and begin their new journey together as husband and wife. They are beyond excited to share this special moment with all of their family and friends, and hope that you all are just as excited to celebrate their union!
