Our wedding festivities begin Saturday, September 4th, so we recommend arriving in Lloret de Mar that day. Spain is 7 hours ahead of Central Time, so if your schedule allows, we highly recommend flying in a day or two early to adjust to the time change and spend a night or two exploring Barcelona before heading to Costa Brava.
We would love for our guests to stay with us at Hotel Santa Marta and highly recommend booking through our wedding room block using the code ANNIE&MARK2027 (see the Travel page for additional details). Hotel Santa Marta has a limited number of rooms, and we anticipate that availability may fill up as guests begin making their travel plans. If you're hoping to stay there, we encourage booking as early as possible! There are also plenty of other hotels and vacation rentals throughout Lloret de Mar and the surrounding area. If you choose to stay elsewhere, we recommend arranging taxis in advance for transportation to and from wedding events, as rideshare availability may be limited. See Travel page for additional hotel recommendations.
Transportation to and from the welcome party and wedding venue will be provided for guests staying at Hotel Santa Marta. Exact departure times and additional transportation details will be shared closer to the wedding.
Our wedding is Black Tie. We would love to see our guests embrace the setting with light, bright, and colorful Spanish-inspired hues. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, followed by dinner and dancing inside. We recommend choosing shoes that you'll be comfortable wearing on gravel and uneven surfaces.
While we love your little ones, our wedding weekend will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you can enjoy a weekend away with us in Spain!
Due to venue capacity, we are only able to accommodate the guests formally named on your invitation. Your RSVP page will reflect everyone included in your invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!
Your personalized RSVP page will show all of the wedding weekend events included in your invitation, along with additional details for each celebration.
Early September on the Costa Brava is typically warm and sunny during the day, with cooler evenings by the water. Temperatures are generally around the upper 70s to low 80s during the day and cooler in the evenings, so we recommend bringing a light layer for nighttime.
Spain uses the euro (€). Credit cards and Apple Pay are widely accepted, so you shouldn't need to carry much cash, though having a small amount of euros on hand can be helpful for taxis, tips, or smaller purchases.
All U.S. guests will need a valid passport to travel to Spain. Because international entry requirements can change before September 2027, we recommend checking the latest requirements well in advance of your trip. As a general rule, we recommend that your passport be valid through at least March 2028.
The local languages are Spanish and Catalan, but English is widely spoken in Barcelona and throughout popular destinations along the Costa Brava. You should have no trouble getting around, though a few Spanish phrases are always appreciated!
Absolutely - we hope you do! Barcelona has direct flights to destinations throughout Europe, making our wedding weekend a great excuse to extend your trip. If you're planning to travel after the wedding, we recommend departing Tuesday, September 7th or later. We'll be celebrating with a pool party at Hotel Santa Marta on Monday, and our hotel block runs through Tuesday, so you won't want to leave too soon!
Hotel Santa Marta is approximately 1.5 hours from Barcelona and Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN). We recommend arranging a private transfer in advance for the easiest and most comfortable option, especially if you're traveling with a group. Taxis and Uber are also available from Barcelona Airport, and rental cars are a great option if you plan to explore more of the Costa Brava during your trip. We will share additional transfer recommendations and transportation details as we get closer to the wedding weekend.
